ANSWER THE CYBERBEE COPYRIGHT QUESTIONS!

If you are creating a project that will be published online and you want to use images that someone else created then:
     1. Be sure you have PERMISSION from the creator -- this means research!
     2. Give credit to the creator - where you found the image

Copyright Friendly Links for Images:

Wikimedia Commons
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page (On this site, you are searching photos and pics where the creator has allowed reuse.)

Burning Well
http://www.burningwell.org/ (Do not choose any of the "stock" photo options at the bottom of the page - those have to be paid for, they are not part of Creative Commons licenses)

Clckr.com
http://www.clker.com/
(Site has mostly clip art - scroll past the ads after you search and check the "terms of use" to be sure you can put it in your project.)

EduPics
http://www.edupic.net/search.htm
(Try skimming through the keywords rather than using the search to search for your own term.)

Every Stock Photo
http://www.everystockphoto.com/
(Some really beautiful photographs - check the license on the right side of the screen.)

Free Photo Bank
http://www.freephotobank.org/main.php
(Do not use the search or you will get to photos that cost money - use the categories to browse for photos.)

Free Foto
http://www.freefoto.com/index.jsp
(You will need to follow their license agreement after finding good photos.)

From Old Books
http://www.fromoldbooks.org/
(Antique looking pictures and photos from old books - easier to browse with the provided keywords than to tag.)

Smithsonian Images

w  (Give credit and link back to the image if you are making a "linkable" project like a website or wiki)

Veezle
http://www.veezzle.com/
(Searches a variety of sources - check licenses.)

WP ClipArt

(Just clip art - no photos)

(Arty stuff)

Using Google Image Search the "Copyright" Way

Search for your image key term in Google (I like going directly to http://images.google.com)

Picture
Select the "Tool" Gadget in the upper right corner

Picture
Go to "Advanced Search" and scroll down to "Usage Rights" - change the rights to "Free to Use or Share"
Picture
Then click on the "Advanced Search" button - your results will change and their will be fewer! Use these pictures in your project and be sure to give credit to the site/creator where you found them.
